ETTRICK, Va. - November 8, 2025 - The Lincoln University (PA) women's soccer team opened play on Day One of the CIAA Women's Soccer Cup on Saturday evening, falling 4–0 to Virginia State University in Ettrick, Virginia.

Freshman goalkeeper Nevah Washington recorded four first-half saves before Ariel Reyes (Valley Stream, NY) entered to close the match, adding key stops in the second frame. Offensively, senior forward Justyce King (Menifee, CA) tallied Lincoln's lone shot on goal as the Lions continued to battle throughout the match.

Virginia State struck early, netting two goals within the opening seven minutes, before adding insurance tallies in the 78th and 89th minutes to seal the result.

Lincoln's defensive unit, anchored by Ricyonna Walker (Kingston, Jamaica), Jordan Allison (Baltimore, MD), and Nia Miller (Alexandria, VA), fought through the full 90 minutes, maintaining effort and composure against sustained offensive pressure.
