BOWIE, Md. — Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS)'s (Sailisbury, Md./Parkside) Twenty-one points and deadly-precision from well-behind the arc helped Lincoln climb within striking distance of Bowie State late, but a crucial sequence allowed BSU to hold on for a 65-59 win Tuesday at A.C. Jordan Arena.
After trailing as much as 18 with 4:54 to play, DuBose drained a deep 3, igniting a rally. Following two DuBose free throws, the hole stood at 62-55.
“Last night, I kind of struggled, but coach Kisha (Middleton) encouraged me to keep shooting,” she said. “I just kept my eyes on the rim, and they kept going in.”
LU came up with a steal on the next possession, and with DuBose racing toward the basket, Lady Bulldog, Lakisha Walker sped back and came up with the critical block. Back on the offensive end, Walker nailed the dagger three-pointer.
“We get confidence once we get a stop or two,” Dubose said, who was playing before family and friends back in her home state of Maryland. “Once the shots start going, it just builds from there.”
DuBose paced Lincoln with 21 points, seven of which came on that final run. Also with a critical trey was Tahlar McIntosh (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia HS) (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia) to get LU within nine.

Walker led Bowie State with 16 points. Dubose was the only Lady Lion in double figures, but Mfon Ekanem (Springdale, Md./C.H Flowers HS), also playing in front of a home crowd, had eight points, all in the first half. She also had a team-high eight rebounds.
Overall, there were four Maryland natives playing for Lincoln. Patrice Ferguson (Mitchellville, MD/Charles H. Flowers) (Mitchellville, Md./Charles H. Flowers) and Brittney Waters (Capitol Heights, Md./Charles H. Flowers) (Capitol Heights, Md./Charles H. Flowers) also made the arena feel like home.
At halftime, LU trailed 32-20, but Bowie went on a 10-2 run to open the final frame.
