Wilkinson steps up in loss to Goldey-Beacom

Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.
— With the outcome decided and it being the final game, the Lincoln men's soccer team decided to have some fun in 9-0 loss to Goldey-Beacom College at Nancy Churchman-Swain field.

Goalkeeper Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbabos/William Grady) moved from the net to forward and had quite an afternoon. In 23 minutes of work, he blasted three of Lincoln's 16 shots. Stephen Sangster (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago/Kennett (PA)), also a senior, moved into net and saved three shots by the Lightning while allowing just two goals.

Wilkinson concludes his soccer career with 310 saves, tops in program history.

The Lightning, though, were too strong up front. Ricky Cann took a pass from Chris Casey and blasted it home from 20 yards out. GBC would go up 5-0 at the half behind two goals by Ricky Jackson. He earned the hat trick in the 51st minute, putting the game out of reach.

Goldey-Beacom totaled 31 shots, but Lincoln had 16 of its own. Midfielder Adedotun Osho had three shots to pace the Lions. Each of them was on goal. Oluwaseye Adekanye (Lagos, Nigeria/) had Lincoln's most attempts with five, a strong showing for the senior in the finale considering he battled hamstring injuries much of 2010. Two shots required Lightning saves.
