Briarcliffe's second half surge spoils Lincoln's home opener

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA. (September 13, 2008) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat to visiting Briarcliffe College Saturday afternoon in its 2008 home opener. (BOXSCORE)

 

It was the first meeting in school history between the programs. Briarcliffe's Alan Acevedo scored two goals in the second half to help the Seahawks (3-2 overall) snap a 1-1 intermission score.

 

Lincoln sophomore and environmental science major Adedotun Osho scored his first career goal in the first half. Lincoln sophomore and physical education major Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbabos/William Grady) made five saves for the Lions (1-4).

 

Briarcliffe, which scored first on a David Pancharo goal, outshot Lincoln, 14-8. The two teams will meet again in Long Island (NY) on Tuesday October 14 at 3:00 p.m.

 

Lincoln returns to action Sunday afternoon when it hosts Gallaudet University beginning at 3:00 p.m.
