LANCASTER, PA. (April 3, 2008) – Melvin Robinson (Wilmington, DE/William Penn) hit his first career home run and Joe Kruemmer (Middletown, DE/Hodgson Vo-Tech) raised his batting 23 points during a pair of 7-5 and 16-7 defeats to Lancaster Bible College Thursday afternoon. In finishing a triple short of hitting for the cycle, Robinson also enjoyed his first career four-hit game. He also drove in a career-high four RBIs in the opening game. Robinson's blast came in the first inning when he drove a one-out pitch over the left centerfield fence in the top of the first inning. That gave Lincoln a 2-0 lead. Robinson singled in his second at-bat in the third inning. He delivered a RBI double in his third plate appearance in the fifth inning that tied the game at 4-4.
Meanwhile, Kruemmer, who had five hits over the two games raised his team leading batting average to .441. He entered the game batting .418. Kruemmer doubled in each game and drove in three runs in the second game. Kruemmer has seven multi-hit games this season. Kruemmer, who scored four runs, also had three hits against Penn State-Abington in the second game of a doubleheader.
Omar Glinton (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Augustine's) had two hits in the opening game. In the second game, Duane Wyse (Philadelphia, PA/West Catholic)'s two-run single helped Lincoln take a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Josh Graber (Baltimore, MD/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel), who pitched in both games, struck out eight batters in eight innings. Also in the second game, Rodney Reid (Queens, NY/Law Enforcement) picked up his second double of the season. He has three hits.
Lincoln returns to action when it hosts Shaw University Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in a doubleheader.
