Smith soars to victory in 400-hurdles at Greyhound Classic

BETHLEHEM, PA. (April 19, 2008) – Lincoln University of Pennsylvania junior Donneisha Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Harold S. Vincent) earned a pair of gold medals by winning the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and helping the 4 x 400-meter relay team to victory during the Greyhound Classic at Moravian College Saturday afternoon. In winning the first individual race of her college career, Smith sailed over the hurdles in a time of 1 minute, 4.18 seconds. Later in the afternoon, Smith teamed with sophomore Alisha McKeithan (Chester, PA/Strath Haven), sophomore Antonia Jones (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) and freshman Kristina Rembert (Bronx, NY/Cathedral) to win the 4 x 400-meter relay in 3:57.08.

 

McKeithian continued to lower her time in the 400-meter dash. McKeithan finished sixth in the 400 in a time of 56.98 seconds. Rembert was 14th in the same event with a time of 59.55 seconds.

The Lincoln women will return to action when it competes in the Penn Relays Thursday afternoon between 5:40 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. The Lady Lions will run the 4 x 400-meter relay.
