CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 23, 2008) -- Dante Blanton-Holcombe (Baltimore, MD/Dunbar) put on another scoring show during Lincoln's 88-74 defeat to Johnson C. Smith University at Brayboy Gymnsasium Saturday night. (BOXSCORE)
Blanton-Holcombe reached double digits in scoring for the 29th straight game by scoring a game-high 33 points. It was the fifth time this season Blanton-Holcombe has scored 30 or more points. Dominic Washington (Philadelphia, PA/Imhotep Charter) added a career-high 22 points for Lincoln, which finished its 2007-08 season with a 4-22 record.
Garrick Wooten (Baltimore, MD/Randallstown) finished with eight rebounds and six points, both on 3-pointers (his first of his career). However, the balance of JCSU proved to be too much for Lincoln to overcome as 10 players scored. The Golden Bulls (18-9) made 12 3-pointers and led, 41-31, at halftime. Lincoln trailed 66-57 with 10 minutes remaining before the Golden Bulls went on a 20-3 run to take control.
Ryan Scott scored 19 points and Edmund Rainey added 18 points for JCSU.
