Lincoln University, PA (October 11, 2008) – On Saturday evening, the Lincoln University men's soccer team dropped a tough home game to Concordia College (NY) 3-1. (BOXSCORE)
After the Clippers forward Daniel Espinoza scored in just over eight minutes into the match, Lincoln tied the game on a side volley one-timer by sophomore forward Seye Adekanye (Lagos, Nigeria/) into the bottom right hand corner of the net past the diving Concordia keeper in the 25th minute. The goal was assisted on a well placed cross by sophomore midfielder Adetotun Osho to the top of the 18-yard box.
Concordia came back to go ahead in the 38th minute as forward Ulyses Salceda scored the go ahead goal. The Clippers added to their lead in the 73rd minute as midfielder Richard Heredia jumped on a miscue by Lions goalkeeper for the third goal of the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbabos/William Grady) had three saves on the match to keep the Lions within striking distance.
The next game for Lincoln will be on October 14 as they travel to Long Island, NY to take on Briarcliffe College. Kickoff is set for 3:00pm.
