Rowan too much for Lincoln in men's soccer

GLASSBORO, NJ (September 8, 2007)— Forward Jay Vigilante scored two goals to lead the Rowan University men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Lincoln University of Pennsylvania Saturday evening. (BOXSCORE)
 
Back Jason Dugan got the Profs on the scoreboard when he put back a shot at 18:48.  Vigilante found the net on a direct kick at 56:07 to give Rowan a 2-0 advantage.  At 78:22, Vigilante added an insurance goal that was assisted by midfielder Justin List and forward Tom Gannon.

Rowan outshot Lincoln, 15-8.  Rasaan Lisimba, Theon Francis (Trinidad & Tobago/Queens Royal College) and Kamah Dawana (Philadelphia, PA/Engineering & Science) had two shots each to lead Lincoln. Emmanuel Cooper (Philadelphia, PA/Southern) and Ouloide Yannick Goue (Kennett Square, PA/Lycee Classipue d'Abidjan) had one shot apiece for the Lions.

Goalkeeper Kevin Nuss started in net for the Profs and made one save.  Charles Cunliffe played the final 27:19.  For the Lions, John Sheyi Oluwole (Lagos, NIgeria/Immaculate Heart) turned away five shots in 68 minutes, while Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael, Barbabos/William E. Grady, NY) made two saves in 22 minutes.

Rowan improved to 3-1 while Lincoln dropped to 1-2. It was the fourth consecutive year Lincoln has suffered a setback to the Profs of the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Lincoln has been shutout in both of its defeats this season.

Lincoln returns to action Saturday afternoon when it travels to face Molloy College of New York. The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
