    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Vivek Kalola joined the Lincoln University athletic staff as the assistant men’s basketball coach in August 2021.

Kalola, who is one of only a few assistant men’s basketball coaches of Indian descent in NCAA history, he reunites with his former head coach, Corey Lowery, who he served under as an assistant under during a six-year stint at Essex County College.
 
Kalola’s responsibilities at Lincoln include working with all facets of the Lions’ program, including video and recruiting, scouting and game planning, as well as player development and on-the-floor coaching.
 
Prior to joining Lincoln, Kalola most recently coached at The Patrick School, which is long regarded as one of the nation’s top high school programs. During his time at The Patrick School, he served an assistant for the National Team - where he coached and mentored several players that went on to continue their careers as student-athletes at both the NCAA Division I and Division II basketball levels.
 
Before coaching at TPS, Kalola served three seasons as head freshman boys coach at Union High School (Union, NJ), followed by six years as an assistant at Essex County College under Lowery.
 
At Essex, Kalola played an integral role in helping lead the Wolverines to a sterling 88-6 record (97.8 winning percentage) in Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) play and an overall mark of 157-35 (81.8%) during his six years. He was a part of teams that won six consecutive GSAC Championships, five consecutive Region XIX Tournament Championships, five consecutive District 12 Championships, and made five consecutive appearances in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.
 
Kalola attended Rutgers University, where he served as a three-year student manager for the Scarlet Knights men’s basketball program from 2002-2005.
 
After earning dual degrees at Rutgers in 2005 - BS in Exercise Science & Sports Studies and a BA in Psychology – he joined the coaching staff at his alma mater as the special assistant to the head coach.
