LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Lincoln University (Pa.) women's soccer team battled Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action Tuesday evening, falling 2-0 at Victory Field No. 1.
The loss moved Lincoln to 0-4-2 overall and 0-2 in CACC play, while Chestnut Hill improved to 2-3-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Chestnut Hill opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Alyssa Browning converted a pass from Bryce Westervelt. The Lions' defense kept the deficit at one through halftime despite facing 12 first-half shots.
Lincoln continued to battle after the break, but the Griffins added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute as Abby Collins scored off an assist from Browning to establish the final margin.
Aleisa Clarke (Smyrna, DE) and
Briana Poullard (Elkton, MD) generated Lincoln's two shots, placing both attempts on goal. Clarke, Poullard,

Kamaria Wright (Red Lion, PA),
Jordan Allison (Baltimore, MD) and
Mikayla Cubbage (Winslow, NJ) each played the full 90 minutes.
Goalkeepers
Nevaeh Washington (Philadelphia, PA) and
Nicole Lilja (Lanham, MD) combined for seven saves. Washington recorded five saves during the opening half, while Lilja stopped both shots she faced and held Chestnut Hill scoreless during her 45 minutes in goal.
Chestnut Hill finished with a 25-2 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge in shots on goal. The Griffins also held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
