LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Head Coach Paul Davis has announced the addition of Krys Burnett to the women's basketball staff.

Krys Burnett begins her first season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Lincoln University (PA) Women's basketball program after spending three seasons at Washington State University (WSU).

"Big-time players make big-time plays, and I truly believe we hit a home run with this hire," said head coach Paul Davis.

"When I began this search, I knew exactly what I wanted—someone who is loyal to the game and understands the business of basketball; someone passionate about developing young women both on and off the court; someone who understands analytics, player development, and what it takes to recruit winners. When you put all of those qualities together, there was only one phone call I needed to make—and Krys picked up at exactly the right time.

Krys brings a unique combination of experience as an educator, AAU director, recruiter, assistant coach, and video coordinator at Washington State. Her ability to evaluate the game, build meaningful relationships, develop student-athletes, and understand basketball from both a coaching and analytical perspective will immediately elevate our program.

This isn't simply about adding another coach to our staff. It's about adding someone who aligns with our vision, understands the standard we are building at Lincoln, and is committed to helping us recruit, develop, and compete at a championship level.

At WSU, Burnett contributed across several areas of the program, including opponent scouting, player film, video operations, practice and game preparation, and creative design. She also worked with student-athletes in individual film study and assisted with on-court player development. Burnett supported the program's recruiting and branding efforts through creative design, digital content and recruiting materials.

During her tenure at Washington State, Burnett was part of the Cougars' 2023-24 team that earned a No. 1 seed in the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) and advanced to the WBIT Final Four. She also worked with student-athletes who went on to play professionally in the WNBA and internationally.

Prior to Washington State, Burnett spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Montreat College in North Carolina. She served as the program's recruiting coordinator, academic advisor and head coach of the developmental team while contributing to player development, opponent scouting, practice planning and game preparation. During her two seasons at Montreat, Burnett helped coach five all-conference selections and a player who went on to sign a professional contract.

Burnett arrived at Montreat following three seasons as the head varsity girls' basketball coach at Clark Montessori High School in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. She guided the Cougars to the deepest postseason run in program history and earned Miami Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors during her first season.

Her coaching background also includes serving as an associate program director and coach with Phenomenal Youth, a Cincinnati-based AAU program serving inner-city youth. During her time with the organization, Burnett helped develop student-athletes who went on to earn opportunities to play college basketball across multiple levels.

Before entering college athletics, Burnett worked professionally in education, including as a special education intervention specialist. Her background as an educator continues to influence her approach to teaching the game, communicating with student-athletes and supporting their development on and off the court.

Burnett played collegiate basketball at the University of Cincinnati Clermont from 2003-05, where she also earned an associate degree in business administration. She earned her bachelor's degree in communication with a minor in technology from the University of Cincinnati in 2008 and later earned her master's degree in multicultural special education from Mount St. Joseph University in 2016.

A Cincinnati native, Burnett brings experience across the high school, AAU, NAIA and NCAA Division I levels to Lincoln, along with a background in recruiting, scouting, player development, video, creative design and student-athlete development.
