LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team officially opens the 2026 season on Friday, August 28, when the Lions travel to West Chester, Pennsylvania, to compete in the PSAC East Kickoff Tournament hosted by West Chester University.

Lincoln will open the tournament against host West Chester University at 3 p.m. inside Hollinger Field House. The matchup will mark the season opener for the Lions as they begin their third season under head coach Latifa Raheem.

The Lions enter the 2026 campaign looking to continue building the program under Raheem, who became Lincoln's first full-time women's volleyball head coach in 2024. Raheem brought championship experience to Lincoln after previously guiding Jefferson University to back-to-back Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championships in 2021 and 2022.

Friday's matchup will provide an early test for the Lions against a West Chester program coming off a 19-10 campaign in 2025. The Golden Rams finished 7-7 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play and earned their first PSAC Tournament appearance since 2022. West Chester was selected fifth in the 2026 PSAC East Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Golden Rams will enter Friday's matchup after opening their season earlier in the day against Caldwell University at 1 p.m. West Chester's opening weekend concludes Saturday against West Virginia State University.

On Saturday, August 29, the Lions will take on Jefferson at 11:00 am and end the tournament against Caldwell University at 3:00 p.m.

For Lincoln, the PSAC East Kickoff Tournament begins a 2026 schedule designed to challenge the Lions early while preparing the team for CIAA competition later in the season.
