Lincoln University (PA) Welcomes Dual-Sport Standout Sahfi Reed to the Pride

2/18/2026 2:05:00 PM

Lincoln University, PA — February 18, 2026 - Lincoln University (PA) Athletics has officially added a major impact student-athlete to its ranks with the addition of dual-sport standout Sahfi Reed, a nationally accomplished track athlete and Division I football transfer who brings elite speed, experience, and versatility to the Lions program.

Reed arrives at Lincoln after competing at the University of Houston, where he balanced responsibilities as a wide receiver with participation in one of the nation's premier track and field programs. With three years of football eligibility remaining and a résumé that includes national-level track success, Reed's commitment represents a significant addition for both Lions football and track and field heading into the 2026 season.

The Philadelphia native is widely regarded for his rare blend of size and speed at 6-foot-2 and approximately 185 pounds. His verified track marks 46.14 in the 400 meters, 21.67 in the 200 meters, and 10.89 in the 100 meters place him among the most explosive athletes to join Lincoln in recent years. Earlier in his career, Reed earned All-American recognition at New Balance Nationals and drew Division I football offers from multiple programs thanks to his standout play on both sides of the ball in high school.

At Houston, Reed contributed to a 4x400-meter relay unit that qualified for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships and posted a 3:03.49 season-best time, one of the fastest in program history. That experience competing at the highest collegiate level translates immediately to Lincoln's track program, which has long been recognized for producing championship-caliber athletes and maintaining national relevance across multiple eras.

Reed has already begun making his presence felt in orange and blue. Shortly after enrolling, he clocked a 21.85 in the indoor 200 meters an early indicator of the impact he is expected to have this season. His ability to contribute instantly underscores why Lincoln's coaching staff is enthusiastic about his arrival and long-term potential.

Beyond his measurable performance, Reed's decision reflects a growing trend of elite athletes choosing HBCU programs as intentional destinations rather than fallback options. For Lincoln, his commitment reinforces the university's reputation as a place where high-level talent can thrive academically, athletically, and personally while competing in an environment that values multi-sport excellence.

Lincoln University is excited to welcome Reed to campus and looks forward to watching him develop as a Lion. With his combination of national-caliber speed, Division I experience, and multi-sport versatility, Reed represents not only a major recruiting win, but also a statement about the continued rise and momentum of Lincoln Athletics.
