Baltimore, MD, - February 28, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) Lions battled hard in their CIAA Tournament semifinal matchup against Virginia State, ultimately losing 66-57.
Senior Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) led all Lincoln scorers with 17 points. He also had 11 rebounds and two steals to go along with it.
Senior Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) had 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Senior Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) had nine points and six rebounds, but played outstanding defense, obtaining a block and a steal.
In the first half, Lincoln kept the game very close, entering halftime with an eight-point deficit. The defense was very good, however, Virginia State just kept hitting shots. In the second half, the Lions found their offense, scoring 36 points, but it was not enough to secure the victory.
The Lions had a great season, and are looking forward to not only getting better, but looking forward to the opportunity to compete for a CIAA championship once again.
