Atlanta, Ga. – Dec. 19, 2025 – Lincoln University men's basketball remained in Atlanta with one goal in mind: secure a win before heading home, as the Lions faced Morehouse College in the Chris Paul HBCU Classic. After a slow start, Lincoln regrouped at the break with renewed focus and execution, storming back to force overtime and pulling away for an 80–72 victory. With the win, the Lions improve to 4–7 on the season and look to build momentum moving forward.
Bonard "BJ" Johnson Jr. delivered a statement performance, pouring in a season-high 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including six three-pointers. Johnson controlled the tempo throughout the night, adding 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals to lead Lincoln's offensive surge. Ginuwine Tropnas (Montreal, QC) continued his dominance on the glass, posting a season-best 14 rebounds while contributing 12 points, 3 blocks, and 2 steals, solidifying his presence on both ends of the floor.
Ronald Bridges Jr. (Durham, NC) provided consistent energy and production, finishing with 14 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and a block, helping sustain Lincoln's momentum during crucial stretches of the game.
The difference in the contest came from Lincoln's depth and persistence. The Lions' bench delivered a decisive advantage, outscoring Morehouse's reserves 56–9, while also capitalizing on second-chance opportunities by tallying 22 points compared to just 6 by the Maroon Tigers. Lincoln's relentless effort in overtime sealed the victory.
