Lincoln Defends the Den with Gritty 59–57 Win Over Winston-Salem State

Wilmington, DE. – Dec. 15, 2025 – Lincoln University men's basketball successfully defended home court on Monday night, edging Winston-Salem State University in a thrilling 59–57 victory inside Chase Fieldhouse. Fueled by points off turnovers and a commanding presence in the paint, the Lions secured the hard-fought win and improved to 3–6 on the season, building momentum heading into their next challenge.

Bonard "BJ" Johnson Jr. continued his strong offensive stretch, leading all scorers with 18 points while knocking down a perimeter jumper and contributing across the stat sheet with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. Julius Olanrewaju (Coalinga, CA) delivered a high-energy performance, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting to go along with 9 rebounds, a block, and a steal, providing a spark on both ends of the floor.

In the interior, Kesean Shillingford (Newtown, PA) was a force, recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. His physical play in the post set the tone, as he also added 2 assists and a highlight-reel block that energized the crowd and anchored Lincoln's defensive effort.

Lincoln's dominance in the paint proved decisive, as the Lions outscored Winston-Salem State 32–20 in the lane, showcasing relentless aggression and toughness in the closing moments of the contest.

The Lions head south to Atlanta, Ga., to take on Clark Atlanta University on Thursday, December 18, 2025. With tipoff scheduled for 10:00 p.m. the Lions looking to carry their momentum on the road and continue climbing in the win column.
