Elizabeth City, NC - October 26,2024– The Lincoln University Lions (PA) football team were able to triumph over the Elizabeth City Viking during the Vikings homecoming in North Carolina.
The Lions remained ahead for the entirety of the game managing to bring home a 21-20 win. During the the first quarter, Naszir Oglesby was able to secure Lincoln's first touchdown after receiving a pass from Quarterback Isaiah Freeman (Chester, Pa./STEM Academy High School). The Vikings were not able to score in the first quarter which carried the momentum for the Lions through the second.
Freeman was able to remain aggressive on offense, rushing the ball 44 yards and putting the lions up 13-0.
As the game progressed, viewers could see the vikings putting up a fight. After two touchdowns from Terrance Holland and Zechariah Adams-Duckson, The Elizabeth City Vikings were able to decrease the deficit, bringing the score 14-13.
Amir Gerald (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson High School) was able to bring it home for the Lions in the third quarter scoring a touchdown on a 7-yard run. Lincoln was able to successfully break down the Vikings offense throughout the remainder of the game.
The Lincoln University (PA.) football team will host Virginia StateUniversity November 02,2024 in their next game starting at 1 p.m. in Lincoln University, PA which will also be the teams "Senior Day" where they will honor the teams 14 seniors.
