Lincoln University Assistant AD for Compliance, Mark Bennett, will join current and former NFL players and others for a panel discussion titled "Sports Talks with the Pros – Changing the Community through Sports and Education" on Monday, July 10 at 6 p.m.
Sponsored by Dr. Detra Johnson, the event will kick off the NFL Flag Football Camp for Boys and Girls in Chester, PA. The goal is for the athletes to share their personal stories and how sports made an impact in the community. They also address the importance of being good students and how leadership and civic engagement aligns with sports. In addition, highlight the positive youth activities currently in the community.
In addition to Mr. Bennett, the panel will also include current Las Vegas Raider and Chester's own: Bilal Nichols, and a number of former Philadelphia Eagles including Bobby Taylor, Hollis Thomas and Hugh Douglas. Chester High School Girl's Basketball Coach, Marvin Dukes will also join the panel, along with event sponsor Dr. Detra Johnson.
The event is open to the public and will be hosted at Chester Community Charter School's East Gym located at 214 East 5th Street in Chester, PA.
