Baseball Ends Season On A High Note With Big Win In Finale

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball program has finally come away victorious in a ballgame with the Mercy Mavericks following 17 failed attempts, taking the last contest of the year in convincing fashion, 10-3.

  • Josiah Bowles (Plant City, Fla./Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy) capped his career with 7.1 sparkling innings of two-earned run work (three total), punching out one Maverick and ending his senior season as the squad's winningest pitcher at 4-3.
 
  • Eight of the club's ten base hits came from four hitters as Damaal Sands (Nassau, Bahamas/Monteverde Academy), Alex Jones (Bear, Del./Appoquinimink), DeAndre Bowens (Rock Hill, N.Y./Monticello), and Jefry Azcona (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Central) all clubbed a pair of singles each while scoring seven times, driving in four RBIs, and walking thrice with Bowens adding a sacrifice fly to the mix plus Sands getting plunked twice.
 
  • Jaden Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) was a valuable two-way player and put it on display one more time, cranking an RBI-double and swatting a sac fly plus a score on top of 1.2 scoreless frames with only two baserunners allowed.
