PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania softball program jumped out to a pair of 1-0, top of the first inning leads courtesy of two Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) swings but was outscored 8-1 over the other 12 frames during a doubleheader sweep at the paws of the Tigers, 4-2 and 4-1.

Lincoln (PA) Top Performers:

• Brown, as referenced in the ledé, drove in all three runs on the afternoon as she went 5-for-6 (.833) with a two-run double plus an RBI-single.

• The sophomore was responsible for providing more than one-third of the team's 14 base knocks (35.7%).

• Technically, Chloe Foster (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) pitched a complete game shutout in game two with six scoreless innings where she allowed five hits and two walks with four strikeouts, unfortunately, she came on after four runs had already crossed the plate with no outs recorded.

• Cailyn Dove (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck Senior) showed patience by being the only Lion to draw a walk, doing so once in each ballgame.

• Cate Liskey (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon) tossed a complete game as well, putting six innings together with just two walks and two earned runs while Holy Family put four total on the scoreboard.

• Amaya Townsend (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) went 3-of-3 plus a triple in the opener, Aliya Rose (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Preperatory) scattered three singles as well as a steal across the day, and Leinayiah Jex (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) swiped two bases during the front half of the twin bill.

Notes:

• Lincoln finished its non-conference slate with a record of 8-15 or a winning percentage of 34.8%.

• The Lions will only play CIAA opponents from here on out beginning with a trip to ECSU for a Saturday doubleheader at South Park in Park County, Colorado . . . scratch that Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
