Lincoln (PA) Top Performers:
- Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) was a victim of countless mistakes and a miniscule strike zone as six of her runs allowed were unearned and if only earned runs counted, she would have earned the win with room to spare. She decided to take out her frustrations at the plate, driving in three RBIs on two singles plus a run, a walk, and a stolen base.
- Kailee Richmond (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) went six innings for the second time in nine appearances in Orange and Blue, striking out five Panthers en route to a pair of earned runs given up.
- Cailyn Dove (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck Senior) racked up the most total bases on the day at four, recording two doubles in game one alone and one ribbie in each ballgame with the nightcap's coming on a sacrifice fly.
- Irlynn Richardson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) matched Dove's four bases, doing so over two hits (single and triple), scoring twice, and coaxing a free pass.
- Other notable offensive contributors were Maison Burton (Frederick, Md./Frederick) (double, steal, HBP) and Aliya Rose (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Preperatory) (two steals, two runs, RBI).
Notes:
- Since 2009, Lincoln won five of its first seven meetings with VUU but since then, the Panthers have now claimed 18 straight victories in the series.
Next:
- Softball will play its final non-conference doubleheader of the regular season in the City of Brotherly Love at Holy Family on Tuesday.
