DOVER, Del. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania softball program almost stole game one from NCAA Division I opponent Delaware State on the road in a 6-5 setback before getting shut out in the back half of the twin bill, 9-0 in five.

All three hits in the nightcap were singles by Aliya Rose (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Preperatory), Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark), and Cailyn Dove (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck Senior) as Rose captured second bases on a steal as the only offense of note.

Chloe Foster (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) pitched seven combined innings over both matchups, striking out two Hornets while allowing only two earned runs plus two walks. Foster also had the club's lone multi-hit and multi-RBI outing at the dish, going 2-of-3 (.667) for a pair of RBI-singles on top of scoring a run.
