NEWARK, N.J. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball program stormed out to a big early lead with six unanswered runs over the first four innings, but allowed Bloomfield to score the final 14 runs, including 11 combined in the fourth and fifth to cage the Lions, 14-6.

• Four pitchers contributed scoreless frames as Darrion Williams (East Hartford, Conn./East Hartford), Pedro Santos (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic), Luis Reinoso (Beltsville, Md./High Point), and Hilbert Nina De Leon (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) combined for 4.0 innings, three strikeouts, and only a single hit.

 

• Bryce Oliver (Williamstown, N.J./St. Augustine's Prep) had a busy night at the dish, going 2-for-4 (.500) with an RBI to go along with scoring twice.

 

• Damaal Sands (Nassau, Bahamas/Monteverde Academy) was the lone Lion to notch both multiple hits (2 singles) and multiple RBIs (2) while Josh Shepherd (Bowie, Md./Bowie) (2-of-3, .667) and Jalen Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) (2-of-5, .400) each touched the plate once as baserunners with the former drawing a free pass on top of that.

 

• Alex Jones (Bear, Del./Appoquinimink) managed to pick up a pair of runs batted in despite not registering any hits, driving home two on an error.

 

• Drew Darby (Union, N.J./Union) had the singular extra-base hit for Coach Plá, doubling in Shepherd in the fourth to extend the advantage to 6-0. Darby also walked and scored a run as well.
