Lions Conclude Seven-Game Homestand With Twin-Bill Split Against Chestnut Hill

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball program went ahead for good with a three-run sixth in the second contest to win 8-5 and dropped a high-scoring affair in the opener by a score of 21-11, both in seven.

  • Hasan Aquil (Washington, D.C./Banneker) tied his career-high with four strikeouts over 3.2 frames, Josiah Bowles (Plant City, Fla./Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy) collected the victory in the nightcap after hurling six innings of four earned runs allowed (five total) on top of three whiffs, and Darrion Williams (East Hartford, Conn./East Hartford) got the job done for his first career save by picking up a pair of Ks while keeping the Griffins off the scoreboard in the seventh.
 
  • Williams also singled home a pair of Lions in the bottom of the first inning of the day.
 
  • The Killer Bees and two starting catchers of (Anthony) Burgos and (DeAndre) Bowens both hit homers, the first and second of their respective careers, combining for a perfect 6-for-6 (1.000) hitting spree, six RBIs, scored five runs, two round-trippers, as well as two doubles.
 
  • Jalen Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) was a hit machine in both contests, collecting two base knocks and a run scored in each.
 
  • Bryce Oliver (Williamstown, N.J./St. Augustine's Prep) reached base safely thrice before scoring all three times in the loss, courtesy of a double, single, and a hit-by-pitch, with a steal thrown in.
