Lincoln (PA) Top Performers:
- Irlynn Richardson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) was far and away the best batter for the designated home nine, picking up a pair of hits in both ballgames to go 4-for-5 (.800) to account for 33% of Lincoln's overall hit total (4-of-12). She reached base safely five times in total over 13 innings as she drew a walk on top of her quartet of singles, stealing three bases, and scoring twice.
- Kailee Richmond (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) had the Orange and Blue's only extra-base knock of the day, plating a pair of baserunners with a two-RBI double in game two while also helping LU score its third and final time in the nightcap without the run batted in, doing so via an error on the Lightning's first basemen.
- Digging deeper into the pitching line of Chloe Foster (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin), she was quietly solid despite allowing seven runs as six of those were unearned. Jones did not walk anybody during her complete game two appearance in the circle with just one earned run crossing the dish.
- Aliya Rose (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Preperatory) was the only other student-athlete for Coach Waddell to have a hit in each tilt, scoring in game two.
- Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) had an RBI at the plate and seven Ks pitching plus the trio of Cate Liskey (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon), Maison Burton (Frederick, Md./Frederick) (pinch-hit), and MacKienzee Rasheed (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) all contributed seeing-eye singles as well.
Notes:
- The Lions recorded the same amount of hits in each contest with six apiece.
Next:
- LU of PA will have to wait another ten days before having its official home opener on March 11, but before they can get there, they will return to the First State for the third time for a matchup at fellow HBCU and Division I opponent Delaware State for a noon and 2 p.m. twin bill.
