Lincoln Makes Trek To Virginia State University

ETTRICK, Va. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's basketball program resumes Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday afternoon in Ettrick, Virginia against the Trojans of VSU.

LUPA is the best in the CIAA and top-eight in the NCAA for both turnovers forced per game (18.86) plus turnover margin (5.2) while also slotting top-50 nationwide regarding scoring defense (66.4), field goal percentage allowed (41.2%), and steals per game (8.5).
 
Korey Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaSalle Academy) tops the league regarding free throws made (106) and free throw percentage (81.5%) with the former slotting 18th in the country. He also is the conference runner-up for steals (38) and points (372) on top of a third-place allotment in the points a contest of 16.9 and field goal percentage (45.3%).
 
Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) currently trails only Claflin's Jailen Williams in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.73) among his CIAA peers as he's dishing out three dimes per night as well as taking third for steals per game (1.79)

Scouting the Virginia State Trojans:
 
The Blue and Orange have won two-in-a-row since it fell to Lincoln just nine days prior, handling both Bowie State (67-58) and Livingstone (84-65), tied with Virginia Union for first place in the Northern Division coming into the weekend.
 
The Trojans are the best assisting team in the conference at 14.2 on average while boasting a top-25 rebounding margin in the NCAA with a plus-6.1 to go along with the seventh-best free throw attempts average in the country (25.0).
 
Francis Fitzgerald has established himself as one of the top three-point shooters in Division II, making 45% of his shots from distance to rank 14th and making the second-most in the CIAA on average at 2.63.
 
Zach Newkirk is statistically on top of the conference for assists (83) and assists per game (4.2), claiming the fourth-highest assist-to-turnover ratio (1.54) as well.
