  • #6 Leinayiah Jex (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) (Freshman | Utility | Silver Spring, Maryland | John F. Kennedy HS)
    • In the OF, she has active prep, a quick first step and covers ground with speed. She works through the ball maintaining athletic actions with a clean transfer to throw. At SS, she has quick footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. Hands are presented out in front as she tracks the GB into her mitt and gathers well. Exchange is quick/clean with accuracy on her throws. Continuing to strengthen her arm (long toss program) will aid in her development both in the OF & INF. As a hitter, she displays an athletic stance with patience waiting for a pitch she likes. She tracks pitches into the zone and off of the barrel, connecting and spraying line-drives. Using more of her lower 1/2 while finishing with more extension through contact will both help to increase power. Jex has tools with still time to progress to get to where she wants to be.
