LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania women's basketball program secured its eighth win in-a-row Saturday afternoon, its longest winning streak since coming away victorious in ten consecutive from January 11 to February 13, 2020 after defeating Shaw 73-55.

Lincoln (PA) Top Performers:

  • Ciani Montgomery (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic Prep) snagged a career/game-high 20 points and nine field goals made (9-for-20, 45%) plus four assists and a pair of steals.

  • Jaleesa Lanier (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) was a deadly three-point assassin for the Lions on the afternoon, logging a career-most six three-pointers to account for all 18 of her new personal benchmark for points as well as a matchup-high six dimes. Her half-dozen triples is the most by a Lincoln female this season.

  • Wednesday night's hero Maya Madison Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) was the final lady to notch a career-mark as she cashed in four buckets without missing on top of five boards, a season-high two assists, and a game-high two blocks.

  • Anyssa Fields (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) produced a 2022-23 best four dimes while fronting the club with seven rebounds.

Notes:

  • Lincoln was in control for the majority of the contest, taking the lead two minutes into the matchup and never relinquishing it, ending the first frame with ten unanswered.

  • Since the calendar flipped to 2023, the defense has clamped down significantly as it has held four of its six opponents to less than 60 points.

  • Two of the biggest momentum swingers are the turnover battle and steals in particular, forcing a plus-ten turnover margin (19-9) and doubling up the Bears in steals (8-4).

Next:

  • The Orange and Blue clad ladies will make a rare road trip to an NAIA foe, the Washington Adventist Shock in Takoma Park, Maryland, at 7 p.m. on Monday evening for a clash in The Pitt.
