  • Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) was everywhere and did everything for his team Saturday, going for a career-most eight free throws made, a season/game-high of eight rebounds, contest-best 24 points and four assists, plus a tied for team-high two steals with Marshall Roberson (Charlotte, NC/West Mecklenburg).

  • Korey Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaSalle Academy) spectacular performance was somewhat overshadowed by Hudson but nonetheless impressive, connecting on an incredible 16-of-16 from the free-throw line, the most makes by a Lions this year. He put together 23 points, five boards, two assists plus a steal.

  • Freddie Young Jr. co-led all game participants with four dimes, Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) set a season-best with two as well as the squad's lone block, and Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) knocked down his first multi-triple outing of the season for eight points and three assists.

Notes:

  • The Lions held the Bears to the lowest defensive rebound total allowed this campaign (18), its fewest assists (5), and just one block while getting SU to commit 27 fouls, the most by a CIAA opponent so far.

  • The offense logged season-bests in both free throws made (35) and attempts (46), winning a sloppy turnover battle by one despite turning the ball over a 2022-23 worst 20 times.
