The Lincoln University volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-19) to Georgian Court Saturday in non-conference action inside Manuel Rivero Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Haley Loper (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Technical) led the team with eight kills, following by junior Erica Taylor (Romulus, MI/Romulus Summit Academy) (seven) and freshman Laila Newborn (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) (four).
- Newborn was also a force at the net with one block solo and two block assists, while Loper added a pair of block assists.
- Freshman Janaa Smith (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) distributed a team-high 10 assists, marking the fourth time this season she finished with double-figure assists.
- Sophomore Jaida Lumpkin (Middletown, Del./Middletown) recorded a team-high eight digs with seven assists, while sophomore Mariah Webster (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech/) finished with seven digs.

Lincoln (2-4 overall, 0-1 CIAA) returns to conference action, hosting Virginia State 6 p.m. Monday.
