THE LAST TIME OUT
The Lincoln University football team surrendered a pair of second-half touchdowns and fell to Chowan University, 28-12, in CIAA action at Garrison Stadium on November 6, 2021.

Isaiah Wilson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) V was 11-of-27 for 135 yards, a touchdown and interception. He added 42 yards rushing on seven attempts. Michael Credle continued a strong finish to the season with five catches on 90 yards and a touchdown.

Roosevelt Jordan (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) led the team with seven tackles and a pass break-up, while Rontay Dunbar (Brooklyn, N.Y./Freedom) finished with six tackles and a forced fumble.

GROUND ATTACK
The Lions are doing a great job in running the football and stopping the run as they are third in the 12-team CIAA in both categories. The offense is racking up 144.8 yards rushing, while the defense has allowed 112 yards per game.

Lincoln will continue to utilize three to four different running backs and two quarterbacks in the ground attack. Freshman quarterback Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) is tenth in the CIAA with 40.5 yards per game.

STOUT DEFENSE
Lincoln's defensive unit is ranked second in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, allowing 14.7 points per game. Part of the Lions' success is getting off the field on third down. Lincoln is ranked fourth in the CIAA in allowing opponents to a 33.3 conversion rate.

Veteran experience on the backend of the Lincoln defense, which features returners Rontay Dunbar (Brooklyn, N.Y./Freedom), Kentrell Pierce (Calumet City, Ill./Harold Richards), and Eric Best (Burlington, N.J./Burlington), is a huge reason for the defensive success.

FRESHMAN SIGNAL CALLER
Freshman quarterback Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) has garnered the respect and admiration of his teammates and coaching staff two starts into his collegiate career.

He is coming off quite possibly the best game of his freshman campaign as he marched the Lions 72 yards on eight plays in 1:03 to set Lincoln up for the game-winning field goal. He was 16-of-27 for 298 yards and three touchdowns.

On the season, Freeman was 49-of-95 for 677 yards and six touchdowns.

HOMECOMING CIRCUIT
This game marks the first of back-to-back Homecoming games for the Lions. After hosting Chowan, Lincoln travels to Elizabeth City State. It was supposed to be three straight, however, Hurricane Ian canceled last weeks contest with Winston-Salem State.

MEET CHOWAN
After winning their first two CIAA game, Chowan fell to Fayetteville State Saturday, 13-10.

The Hawks have the fourth-best scoring defense in the conference, allowing 17.8 points per game. Typically a high-powered offense, Chowan is only scoring 17.4 points this season.

Three different players have attempted at least 20 passes for Chowan as the team in 73-of-138 passing for 937 yards and six touchdowns.

Nijere Peoples leads the team with 296 yards rushing, following by Tyrek McNeil (162 yards) and Jaylon Boyd (105 yards). CU has three players with double-figure receptions.

Defensively, Montre Moore is leading the way. He leads the team with 54 tackles, 8.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks. As a team, the Hawks have 41 tackles for loss.
