PETERSBURG, VA – The Lincoln University volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-19, 25-11, 25-10) Thursday to Virginia Union in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sophomore Haley Loper (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Technical) led the team with six kills on 14 attempts with just one error for a .357 hitting percentage. Three other players – senior Jasmin Lewis (Baltimore, Md./Western), junior Erica Taylor (Romulus, MI/Romulus Summit Academy) and freshman Laila Newborn (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) – registered a pair of kills each.
• Sophomore Jaida Lumpkin (Middletown, Del./Middletown) dished out seven assists with three service aces and six digs.
• Sophomore Mariah Webster (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech/) had a team-high 12 digs.

• Lincoln (4-13 overall, 1-10 CIAA) travels to Bowie State 6 p.m. Monday.
