Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The defensive streak continues.
For the fifth straight game, the Lincoln University defense has recorded an interception. And this time, it paid off in points in the Lions' 40-7 loss to Fayetteville State University Saturday in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association action at Luther "Nick" Jeralds Stadium.

Andre Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) secured Lincoln's seventh interception of the season, all by different players, and returned it 65 yards for LU's lone touchdown of the game. Lincoln added two more points as freshman
Rontay Dunbar (Brooklyn, N.Y. /Freedom) returned a blocked extra point for a two-point defensive conversion.
It took until the final possession of the first half for the Lincoln defense to surrender a touchdown, but the Lions still trailed 20-0 at the break.

Roosevelt Jordan (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) led the team with 11 tackles, while sophomore
Derrick McCoy (Bridgeton, N.J. /Bridgeton) added eight tackles, including one for loss. Lincoln added three sacks as a team.

Trae Greene (Willingboro, N.J. /Willingboro) came off the bench to go 3-for-8 for 38 yards and he added 15 yards rushing. Freshman
Elijah Snell (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall) was the leading rusher with 16 yards.

Rashon Cooke (Sharon Hill, Pa./Lower Merion) had two receptions for 22 yards.
Lincoln travels to Virginia Union for another CIAA road contest.
