Gordon Breaks Triple Jump Record as Lions Finish Seventh at CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championship

Krystahl Gordon (Fredriksted, V.I./Saint Croix Edu Complex) etched her name into the Lincoln University women's track and field record book at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships, breaking the school indoor record for the triple jump and leading the Lions to a seventh place finish at the meet, the best finish since 2017.

Gordon's soared to the school record with a jump of 11.68 meters (38'4") shattering the old mark of 11.45 meters (37' 6¾") set by Lincoln Hall of Fame member Jordean Mathews in 2009.  Her record jump earned her third place in the event and All-CIAA honors.

The junior jumper/sprinter's third place finish coupled with a fourth place effort in the long jump earned the Lions 11 points.  Lincoln finished tied for seventh place with Bowie State University with 17 total points.

The Lions recorded a total of nine personal bests (including Gordon's record), two indoor personal best marks and a season-best time in the 4x400 relay over the course of the two-day championship event.

Gordon added two additional personal best marks, jumping 5.47 meters (17' 11½") in the long jump, placing fourth  and completing the 200 meter dash in 27.35 seconds in Sunday's preliminary round.

Amber Glenn (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway West) took nearly 12 seconds off her best 3,000-meter time, finishing in eighth place with a time of 11:49.55 while Keyana Brooks (Philadelphia, Pa./Hopewell Valley Central (N.J.)) recorded an indoor-best shot put toss of 11.70 meters (38' 4¾") to place sixth overall.  Also in the shot put Khadejah Morgan had an indoor personal best throw of 8.82 meters (28' 11¼").

Lincoln's 4x400 relay team of Lacendria Pulley (Essex, Md./Baltimore Polytech), Nakacee McNab, Breanna Lee (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood) and Jahara Harrell (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) produced the final two points for the Lions, placing seventh with a season-best time of 4:15.17

Pulley recorded personal-best marks in both her races in Sunday's preliminary rounds, with a time of 8.04 seconds in the 60 meter dash and 26.35 in the 200-meter dash.  McNab and Lee also notched personal-best marks in the 400 and 60 meter dash events respectively as did Alijah Dunkins (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton) in the 60 meter hurdles.  McNab ran the 400 in 1:03.36 while Lee finished the 60 dash in 8.29 seconds.  Dunkins completed the hurdles in 9.88 seconds.
