Gordy pulls down 15 boards in loss

ERIE, Pa. – The Lincoln University women's basketball team fell to Mercyhurst Wednesday, 58-51, in non-conference action at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. (Post Game Presser)
 
Mercyhurst took control of the game with an 11-3 run in the early moments of the fourth quarter that turned a one-point Lincoln lead into a seven-point deficit. Back-to-back three-pointers sparked the run. 

Senior Kryshell Gordy (Chester, Pa./Ursuline Academy (Del.)) (Chester, Pa.) pulled down 15 rebounds, her most in a Lincoln uniform. Seven of her boards came on the offensive end as the Lions hauled in 21 offensive rebounds. The extra possessions led to 13 second-chance points, while the Lakers' nine offensive rebounds led to nine second-chance points. Lincoln held the 51-44 rebounding edge. 

Junior Briyanah Richardson (New Brunswick, N.J./Matawan Regional) (Brunswick, N.J./Matawan Regional) tallied nine points on 4-of-14 shooting, while sophomore Janya Lilly (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Poly Tech) (Baltimore, Md./Poly Tech) registered nine points on 3-of-11 shooting. Three different players – redshirt senior Kendra Stanford (Philadelphia, Pa./William Bodine) (Philadelphia, Pa./William Bodine), senior Bryanna Brown (New York, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin)(New York, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) and senior Joy Morton (Yeadon, Pa./Penn Wood) (Yeadon, Pa./Penn Wood) – all chipped in with seven points. 

Lincoln (0-3) travels to Saint Joseph's 2 p.m. Sunday.
