The Lincoln University football team kicked off their 2019 season with a game at Lock Haven University Thursday night, falling to the Bald Eagles 57-13.

Eban Jackson II (Los Angeles, Calif./Narbonne) led the Lions passing attack with 159 yards.Â
Richie Goslee (Suitland, Md./The Avalon School) (4 catches, 50 yards) and
Dah'mear Triplett (Elkton, Md./Elkton) (3 catches, 61 yards) were the top receivers. Triplett caught a 44 yard pass for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Christopher Edward-Smalls (Yeadon, Pa./Wissahickon) picked up the majority of the Lions 111 yards on the ground with 60 yards rushing.Â
Justin Johnson (Etters, Pa./Red Land) added 27 and Goslee 28.

On the defensive side,
Keenan Reid (Somerset, N.J./Franklin High) recorded a career-high 12 tackles and had a blocked kick.Â
Mike Johnson (Edgewood, Md./Edgewood) and
Islam Abdul-Rabb (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) also had career highs with 11 tackles apiece.
Tayonte McKenzie (Washington, D.C./Bell) had 222 yards on kickoff returns on special teams.

Lock Haven scored on their opening drive of the game but the Lions roared right back on their first possession to make the score 7-6. Jackson has two big passes, a 20-yard toss to
Jordan Gray (Maplewood, N.J./Abraham Clark) and a 27-yard play to Goslee. Goslee's catch gave the Lions first-and-goal at the one-yard line. Jackson ran the ball in for the score on the next play.

The Bald Eagles added another touchdown late in the first quarter and scored 31 unanswered points in the second quarter to lead 45-6 at halftime.
Lincoln started the third quarter with a five-play 61-yard drive to make the score 45-13, with Jackson's 44 yard pass to Triplett resulting in LU's second touchdown.Â
Cole Klubek (Biloxi, Miss./Hamburg) kicked the extra point.

Lock Haven added two field goals and a late fourth quarter touchdown to round out the scoring.

The Bald Eagles finished the game with 616 yards of total offense (393 passing, 223 rushing). LHU's Kyle Knight threw for 296 yards and Chantz Swartz ran for 80 yards.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, September 14, 2019 when they travel to Dover, Delaware to take on Division I FCS Delaware State University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. Â
