THE SERIES
This will be the 25
th meeting between the two teams. The Lions hold a 13-11 overall record against the Bulldogs, winning seven of their last eight meetings. Lincoln is 7-5 at home against the Bulldogs. The two teams first met in 2007
LIONS HIGHLIGHTS
The Lions won their first match of the season on Sunday, defeating St. Augustine's 3-1 to complete their first CIAA roundup with a 1-2 record. Overall Lincoln is 1-9 and 1-4 in CIAA games.
The Lincoln offense is paced by sophomore
Kaiya Lewis (Woodhaven, N.Y./Queens Preparatory Academy) and senior
Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich./Summit Academy). Lewis has 42 kills in nine matches (1.5 k/s) while Russaw has 28. Russaw also leads the team with 91 assists (2.94 a/s) and ten aces. Freshman
Jasmin Lewis (Baltimore/Western) has 27 kills and eight aces.
On the defensive end,
Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) leads the team with 102 digs. She became the third Lincoln player to record 30 digs in match in the Lions win over St. Augustine's recording exactly 30. Her 30 digs moved her passed LU Hall of Famer Jordean Matthews into 4
th place on the Lions all-time digs list with 622. Russaw also eclipsed the 600-dig mark for her career over the weekend and is sixth on the Lions all-time list with 608. She has 77 digs on the season.
Kaiya Lewis (Woodhaven, N.Y./Queens Preparatory Academy) leads the team with 22 blocks and ranks seventh in the CIAA, averaging 0.79 blocks/set.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs are 2-11 overall and 0-5 in CIAA games having lost all four games at their CIAA Roundup at Claflin University.
Chelsea Beaudoin leads four Bulldog players with 40 or more kills, posting 45 for the season. Madison Marshall has 44 while Alana Matson and Soljala Jones have 43 and 40 respectively. Bianca tucker leads the team with 119 assists, while Beaudoin has 16 aces.
Defensively, Neysha Washington leads the team with 156 digs. Matson has 28 blocks and is one of three Bulldogs with 10 or more blocks on the season.
