The Lincoln University women's volleyball team lost 3-0 to Virginia State University Monday night in Ettrick, Virginia.
 
The Lions fall to 1-11 overall and 1-6 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) contests.  The first-place Trojans improve to 8-7 overall and 5-1 in league play.
 
Kaiya Lewis (Woodhaven, N.Y./Queens Preparatory Academy) led Lincoln with four kills.  Princess Robinson (Oxon Hill, Md./Oxon Hill) and Jade bowers added two kills apiece.   Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich./Summit Academy) had four aces and five assists.
 
On the defensive side Russaw and Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) had five digs apiece while Robinson led the team with two blocks.
 
Jodorrian Taylor led VSU with ten kills while Ambria McBride added six.  Jasmine Jones had three aces and Emma Quarles notched 27 assists setting up the VSU offense.  Jones also led the team with nine digs.
 
The Lions return to action on Thursday, October 17, 2019 when they host Elizabeth City State University at Manuel Rivero Hall.  Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
