Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) scored a career high 25 points and
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) notched his eighth double double of the season but the Lincoln University men's basketball team dropped their fourth consecutive game as Bowie State University rallied late to defeat the Lions 78-73 at the A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Maryland on Saturday.

The Lions fall to 11-8 overall and 4-4 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) games and 0-1 in CIAA north Division contests. The Bulldogs, winners of six straight, improve to 11-8 overall, 7-1 in league play and 1-0 in division contests.

Green provided a big spark off the bench, connecting on 10 of 22 shots from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line en route to his career high 25 point effort. The freshman guard also dished out a game high six assists, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals.

Williams notched his league leading eighth double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Bowie State's Saiquan Jamison also notched a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Juwan Smith led the bulldogs with 17 points while David Belle chipped in 16. Cameron Hayes scored 13 points.

The Bulldogs opened the game with a 9-2 run for their biggest lead of the first half but the Lions stayed close, battling back to tie the game five times in the opening period, the last on a layup from
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) which sent the teams into the locker room deadlocked at 31-31.

Williams sank two free throws to open the second half to give the Lions their first lead of the game at 33-31 before the Bulldogs came back to retake the lead. Five lead changes and five ties followed over the next 6:34 with Hayes' two free throws giving the Bulldogs a 46-45 lead and triggering a 15-2 uprising the say BSU gain a double-digit advantage at 59-47 midway through the half.

The Lions roared right back with a 17-2 to take a three point lead 64-61 with 5:12 remaining. Green scored seven points during the run and assisted on a Williams dunk. Williams added six points to the run while
Gevon Arrington (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg (Richard Bland)) chipped in four. Bowie State retook the lead on their next possession as Hayes sank a three-ball for the top of arc, was fouled and subsequently converted the free throw for a four-point play and a 65-64 Bulldog lead.Â

The four-play play started a 10-1 run by the Bulldogs who pushed their lead to six 71-65 with just 1:12 remaining. Lincoln would get no closer than four the rest of the way as the Bulldogs converted seven of eight free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

The Lions shot 38.9% (28-72) from the field, 71.4% (15-21) from the free throw line and 15.4% (2-13) from beyond the arc.  Bowie State connected on 46.3% (25-54) of the shots from the field, 44.4% (8-18) from beyond the arc and 69% (20-29) of their free throw attempts.
