Fayetteville, N.C. - The Lincoln University men's basketball team looks to continue their strong play and eight-game winning streak when they take on the Fayetteville State University in the first of four consecutive home games on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
The Series:
Thursday's meeting will be the 14
th between Fayetteville State and Lincoln. The Broncos lead the all-time series 7-6 having won the last time these two met 62-55 in the first round of the CIAA Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Lions are 1-5 in games played at Capel Arena with their last win coming in the 2016-17 season, a 75-72 overtime triumph.

Lincoln University enters Thursday's game with an 11-4 overall record and a 4-0 record in conference games. The Lions have won eight straight games and ten of their last 11 contests dating back to November 27. Lincoln's 4-0 conference start is their best opening record to start CIAA play in program history.
The Lions eight game win streak includes an exhibition game win at division I Morgan State University. Lincoln's winning streak is currently the longest in the conference.
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) is the Lions leading scorer, averaging 14.5 points per game. He also leads the team shooting 48.6% from three point range.
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) is averaging 13.7 points per game and a team high 9.3 rebounds per game. He leads the team with seven double-doubles and is second on the team with 14 blocks.
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has recorded three-double-doubles on the season and is averaging 9.7 points and 7.70rebounds per game. (second behind Williams) He also leads the team with 19 steals
Maurice Waters (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution (Univ. District of Columbia)) leads the team shooting 52.7% from the field (39-74).
Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) leads the team with 52 assists.
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester) leads the team shooting 74.4% from the free throw line (29-39) and has a team-high 18 blocks on the season.

The Lincoln University men's basketball team produced another excellent team effort Saturday night as they won for the eighth straight time, defeating Shepherd University 80-59 at Manuel Rivero Hall.
The Lions placed five players in double figures and nearly had a sixth as they held off a second half rally by the Rams to extend their win streak. Lincoln is now 11-4 overall on the season and has not lost a game since December 1, 2018. Lincoln has now won eight straight and ten of their last 11 games, including a big exhibition game victory at Division I Morgan State University this past Thursday. Shepherd falls to 7-5 overall.
Freshman
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) led all scorers with 17 points, including a 7-8 effort from the free throw line.
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) (Camden, N.J./Camden) notched his seventh double-double of the season with 11 points and ten rebounds.
Gevon Arrington (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg (Richard Bland)) and
Josh Page (Washington, D.C./Rock Creek Christian Academy) came off the bench to score 14 and 12 points respectively. Arrington was 5-of-8 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Page made four of five shots from the field (two three's) and added a pair of free throws.
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points.
Maurice Waters (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution (Univ. District of Columbia)) (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution (Univ. District of Columbia)) added ten rebuonds and eight points while

Blue Named CIAA Rookie of the Week

Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for his performance during the week ending January 6, 2019.
In the Lions game against Shepherd on Saturday, Blue led the team with a career-high of 17 points as Lincoln won its eighth consecutive game, defeating the Rams, 80-59. Blue shot 4-7 from the field, including a 2-3 performance from three-point range. He was also 7-8 from the free throw line.
The freshman swing player also notched 12 points in Lincoln's 77-75 exhibition game win over Morgan State University on Thursday.
Lincoln Earns first Ever D2SIDA Regional Ranking
The Lincoln University Men's Basketball team is off to their best start since the 2013-14 season and has entered the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Media Poll for the first time in program history. The Lions are ranked eighth in this week's poll following their big win over Shepherd University on Saturday and an exhibition game win at Division I Morgan State University on Thursday.
The Lions are currently 11-4 overall and 4-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) games. Lincoln has won eight straight games following their last loss on December 1, 2018 and are one of just three teams in the region with 11 or more wins joining top-ranked Indiana (Pa.) (13 -0) and #5 Shippensburg (12-3).
Campbell Garners CIAA Player of the Week Honors

Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance during the previous two weeks ending on December 30, 2018.
This is the first CIAA Player of the Week honor for the junior guard. As a freshman, Campbell earn CIAA Rookie of the Week honors on January 9, 2017.
Campbell helped lead the Lions to a 3-0 record, including 2-0 in conference play where the Lions are now 4-0 on the season. Campbell averaged 20 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the three game stretch, shooting 57.1% from the field and a 63.2% mark from three point range.
Scouting the Broncos
Fayetteville State is currently 1-9 overall and 0-3 in league games.
Nakia Rivers leads the Broncos with 13.9 points per game. Long range shooter
Denzell Hosch has an average of 11.9 points per game with 20 three-points made in nine games.
Raymon Pratt is another go-to scorer with 9.4 points a game. Last season's standout
Joshua Bryant has made a return to the program. Last year, "JB" averaged 15.1 points per game. Also new to the program is D-I transfer
JaQuel Richmond who scored 20 points against UNC Asheville.
Last Time out for FSU
In an early game on Saturday in Capel Arena, the Broncos had its eyes set on extending its win streak to two.
Unfortunately, the rematch against Elizabeth City State would have a similar outcome to the December 17
thconference game, with the Vikings (8-7 overall) pulling off an 82-78 victory over the Broncos.
Three Broncos almost scored 20 points each for the game.
Joshua Bryant who played in his second game of the season, had game highs in points (23) and rebounds (9). Fellow add-on
JaQuel Richmond followed closely with 20.
Mark Burton was one point shy of 20 with 19 points.
