Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Redhawks Defeat Lions 5-0

The Lincoln University women's soccer team lost their sixth game of the season Wednesday afternoon as Roberts Wesleyan College handed the Lions a 5-0 defeat in Rochester, New York.
 
The Lions fall to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in East Coast Conference matches.   Roberts Wesleyan improves to 2-3-2 overall and evens their conference record at 1-1.
 
The Redhawks scored twice in the first period and added three more goals in the second.  Taylor Rutland led the way with two tallies.
 
Lincoln finished the game with five total shots, four from senior Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./St. Cloud) and one from sophomore Cedar Davidson (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada/Aurora).  Three of Martinez's shots were on goal.  Lena Rodriguez (Lockport, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) took the loss in goal, falling to 0-5 on the season.  The junior goalkeeper recorded 12 saves. The Redhawks outshot the Lions 45-5 in the match.
 
The women's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, September 22 when they travel to Westbury, New York to take on the New York Institute of Technology in an ECC match.  Kickoff is at noon.
