The two two teams  battled back and forth throughout the first half with neither team able to create much distance from the other, resulting in six ties and seven lead changes over the first 20 minutes of action.  When the dust settled the Hawks held a slim 42-40 lead.

The Hawks maintained the lead throughout the second half and built a nine-point advantage, 70-61 with 6:18 remaining.  An Arrington bucket kicked off a huge 12-2 flourish the tied the game with 2:17 remaining.  Arrington and Elijah Bush (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore (Essex County CC))  (9 points) knocked down back-to-back baskets to close the gap to five before Chowan big man Dino Muminovic buried a three-pointer with 4:01 left to put the Hawks up eight.

Josh Page (Washington, D.C./Rock Creek Christian Academy) countered the Hawk trey with a three-pointer of his own, and Arrington followed with a put back to make the score 73-70.  Campbell then blocked Sanders dunk attempt on the defensive end and came back to sink a game-tying three on the offensive end, knotting the score at 73-73.  Both teams exchanged baskets in the final 1:39 and Campbell recorded in big steal in the final seconds to prevent a last chance shot by the Hawks and send the game to overtime.

In the overtime, layups from Campbell and Arrington opened the scoring and gave Lincoln a four point lead, 79-75 with 2:57 left and then scored six of the next nine points to build their lead to seven 85-78 with 33 seconds left.  A three-ball from Rowland (the Hawks only FG of the extra period) pulled Chowan within four before Williams sank a pair of free throws with 25 seconds left to provide the final margin.  The Hawks had two possession in the final 25 seconds but could not score.
