Men's Basketball Team Travels to Face Millersville on Saturday

The Lincoln University men's basketball team will play their third  consecutive road game and their third consecutive opponent from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)  when they travel down the road to face Millersville University on Saturday.

The Series:
Saturday's game will be the 24th meeting between these two teams.  Millersville leads the all-time series 19-4 with the first game of the series taking place during the 1952-53 season.  Lincoln and Millersville have met five times since the Lions became active NCAA Division II members with Millersville winning four of the five. The Marauders and the Lions last met in 2017-18 with the Lions overcoming a 14-point halftime deficit to earn a 68-65 win at Manuel Rivero Hall.
 
  
About the Lions:
Lincoln University enters Saturday's game with a 1-1 record after competing at the Wolf Bus Lines Classic at Shippensburg University.
 
The Lions won their opening game 75-65 over Lock Haven University.  Lincoln jumped out to a nine point lead at the half, 41-32 and never looked back.  Ten different players scored for the Lions with Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) the lone Lincoln player to reach double figures, scoring 22 points.  He also grabbed nine rebounds.
 
Three players reached double figures in the Lions' second game of the tourney, a 79-69 loss to host Shippensburg.  Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. Williams also had 14 points while Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) added 12.  Williams and Campbell were named to the All-Tournament Team
 
The Lions returned eight players from last season, including its leading scorer, senior Gevon Arrington. The Petersburg, Va. native was one of two Lions to start all 27 games last season, averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 80 percent (101-of-126) at the free-throw line.
  
The Lions were picked to finish 12th in the CIAA preseason poll (sixth in the CIAA North Division).
 
 
Scouting the Marauders:
Millersville enters Saturday's game looking to go 3-1 for the first time since 2009-10. The Marauders have won each of the last two games by at least 20 points. The last time that happened against two Division II teams was in the first two games of 2002-03. Millersville finished that season 26-6.


In their last game, a 78-51 win over Georgian Court University, all five Millersville starters scored in double figures with Marcus Adkison recording a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. He also added four assists and five steals.
 
Through three games, the Marauders are holding opponents to 35.7 percent shooting--a mark that ranks second in the PSAC. Millersville also ranks second in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.225).
