The Lincoln University women's soccer team was narrowly defeated by Shaw University Sunday afternoon, 1-0 at Lions Stadium.

The Lions fall to 0-12 on the season while Shaw improves to 8-2.

Shaw scored their lone goal at the 13:22 mark when Teffi-Ann Browne got a steal and a breakaway scoring off a deflection off Lions goalkeeper

Rodriguez was stellar the rest of the way, stopping 11 more shots by the Bears to finish the game with 14 saves.
Shaw finished the game with 21 shots (15 on goals) while the Lions had 16 shots (nine on goal).Â
Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./St. Cloud) led Lincoln with five total shots (two on goal).Â
Sarata Bello (Sagamu, Nigeria/Remo Methodist) also had two shots on goal (three shots total).

Browne led the Bears with six total shots (four on goal). Shianne DuPlantis earned the win in goal for Shaw.

The women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 when they host Daemen College at 11:00 a.m. in Lions Stadium.
