The Lincoln University women's volleyball team dropped their third straight contest Monday night as they lost to Chowan University 3-0 in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.

The loss drops the Lions record to 2-7 overall and 0-6 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) games. Lincoln is also 0-3 in CIAA North contests.

Chowan took the first set 25-14 and proceeded to complete the sweep, winning the next two sets 25-16 and 25-10.

Lincoln recorded just eight total kills in the match, four from junior
Aubury Coleman (Mason City, Iowa/ Mason City), three from senior
Mariah Russell (St Louis Mo./Maplewood Richmond Heights) and one from sophomore
Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich./Summit Academy). Freshman setter
Alisa Foster (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Acad.) led the team with six assists. Freshman libero
Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) recorded a team high 14 digs.

For the Hawks, Brittany Tschida has a match high 12 kills (1 error) while Milica Vejnovic led the team with 14 digs. The Hawks finished with 31 total kills and also tested the Lions serve receive alignment with a total of 17 service aces.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, September 30, 2017 when they host a CIAA Roundup between northern and southern division schools.  Lincoln will play Johnson C. Smith at 3 p.m. and Fayetteville State at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
