Eight different players scored at least eight points as the Lincoln University women's basketball team got back on the winning track with an 86-42 rout of Elizabeth City State University Wednesday night at Manuel Rivero Gym.

The Lions improve to 5-12 overall and 3-5 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association games. ECSU falls to 4-8 overall and 2-4 in league play.

Lyric Artis (Selkirk, N.Y./Shaker (C.C. of Rhode Island)) came off the bench to lead the Lions with a career-high 14 points (4-7 3FG). Â
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytech) and
Jaeda Davis (Milwaukee, Wis./ Rufus King HS) added 11 and 10 points respectively.Â
Loreal Bledsoe (Clinton, MD/Virginia University of Lynchburg) led all players with a career-high eight rebounds.Â
She'cquan Bailey (Denton, Md/Baltimore City CC) added seven assists along with seven rebounds and nine points. Â
Amanda Okodugha (Norrköping, Sweden/Young Harris College) had two blocks to go along with her eight points.  All 11 Lincoln players who saw action scored at least two points.

Tantania Brown led the Vikings with 11 points and nine rebounds while D'asya Wilson chipped in 10 points. Anaya Eason led the team with four assists.

The Lions led this contest from wire-to-wire outscoring the Vikings 18-8 in the period. Three point field goals by
Kholby Oliver (Bowie, Md./Tallahassee Community College) (nine points) and Mc
Kenzie Spencer (Richmond, Va./Henrico) (eight points) started a 26-4 second quarter effort that saw the Lions take a 32-point lead 42-12 at halftime. Seven different Lincoln players scored in the period with Pendleton notching six of her 11 points on the night in the period.

The third period was the most competitive of the four quarters with Lincoln outscoring ECSU by just two points 20-18. Bailey, Pendleton and Davis provided 16 of the Lions 20 points.    The fourth quarter belonged to Artis. Coming off the bench to play the final six minutes of the game, Artis drained a career-high four three point field goals for 12 of Lincoln's 22 points in the quarter as the Lions pulled away to record the 44-point win.

Lincoln's 86 points is their highest offensive output this season and the team's 44-point margin of victory was the largest since February 10, 2011 when they defeated Salem international by 47 points (89-42).

Lincoln shot 48.5% (32-66) from the field, including a season-high 48% (12-25) from three-point range. The Vikings shot just 29.8% 17-57) and 18.2% (2-11) from three point range. The Lions held a 46-34 advantage on the boards and recorded a school record 23 assists, against only 11 turnovers.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, January 21, 2016 when they travel to Richmond, Virginia to take on nationally ranked Virginia Union University.  The Spartans are currently ranked #2 in the nation. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
