The lady Lions Loss a tough game to end the regular season. They came into the new Virginia State University arena knowing the home team would be looking to avenge their last loss to Lincoln at Manuel Rivero Hall and open their new facility with a win. The lions played aggressively throughout the game and took the lead from the start. They looked as though victory was in hand as their inside outside attack led by junior De'jah Taylor (Nanuet, NY/Paramus Catholic Regional) who scored 14 points and Mieana Gaines (Lincoln Park, MI/Southfield University Academy) who addd 10 worked to take a 10 point led into the final 7 minutes of the game.

Unfortunately, the Trojans had a different ending in mind as they began to attack the basket and either score in the paint or hit free throws as a result of the Lions inability to stop their penetration. They were also able to stymie the Lincoln offense and keep them scoreless in the final 6 minutes of the fourth quarter. The Lions managed just one basket in the waning seconds of the game and loss 56-61. The loss gives the Lions a regular season record of 8-8 in the CIAA conference and 13-11 overall. 

The post season begins Tuesday for the Lions as they head to Charlotte NC to challenge for the CIAA Championships.
