LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Lincoln hosted Virginia Union University in their 2015 home opener and suffered a 3-0 (15-25, 20-25, 11-25) defeat on Thursday, September 25^th in Manuel Rivero Gym.
 
Seniors Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) and Soyini Hugget (Bear, DE/Delaware Tech CC) both finished with five kills leading the Lady Lions attack. Lee added two solo blocks and Hugget had five defensive digs. Senior Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) carried the defensive with 10 digs while junior Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) had nine digs.
 
In the first set, Hugget had a team-high two kills. She led the team in the next set with three and Lee posted three kills in the third set. Junior Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) finished with 10 assists and four digs against Virginia Union.
 
Lincoln falls to 1-5 overall and will travel to Elizabeth City State for their next game on September 27^th at 3 p.m.
