LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Infielder
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led the Lions to their first CIAA victory of the season with three hits and two RBIs in a 11-10 come from behind win on Sunday, April 27
th.
Lincoln trailed St. Augustine's (7-4) heading into the bottom of the sixth inning before five hits led to seven runs, as the Lions rallied from behind to earn their first CIAA victory of the season in a 11-10 win over the Falcons.
The Falcons took an early 2-0 lead after the second inning, but a defensive error in the fourth inning led to
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) scoring LU's first run of the game. Both teams scored three runs a piece in the fifth inning (5-4) shaping things for an exciting ending.
Two more runs were tacked on by the Falcons (7-4) in the sixth inning before the Lions responded with an explosive sixth inning.
Avery Lomax (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt HS) got things going for the Lions with an RBI single scoring
John Burns (Virginia Beach, VA/Bishop Sullivan Catholic School).
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) added on two runs with an RBI single bringing home Lomax and
Daniel Louissaint (Central Islip, NY/Central Islip HS). With the momentum in their favor,
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) recorded his second RBI of the game scoring
DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) as the Lions took a 8-7 lead.
Edwin Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Gompers HS) was the next Lion to single for an RBI as Smith scored and then
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) followed with a two RBI single extending the LU advantage to 11-7.

Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) got the Lions through the first six innings and then relief pitcher
Yasser Ortiz (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Juan Jose` Osuna) picked up the save. Lashley struck out one batter while walking three in his first victory of the season.
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led the Lions at the plate with three hits and a pair of RBIs.
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) had three RBIs and
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) had two RBIs.
